  1. I am scheduled on 7-17 and 7-31. So, I am trying to get promises fulfilled now.
  2. Another vote for hot glue. Clamp the stack and dabs of hot glue around the edges. Just make sure the glue doesn't protrude below the bottom layer. (Doesn't slide really good on the table)
  3. A wish from a few miles west for a great day We need to get together again. @trackman
  4. I missed this originally, but I am in awe. Great execution on a great pattern and your usual attention to detail.
  5. Thanks for the jokes and big pat on the back for the anniversary.
  6. Birthday wishes from central Indiana. Hope you get the day you want!
  7. A family member (25F) is getting married in August and wanted something to honor deceased grandparents and others. Steve Good had a pattern for doll furniture that I reworked to make a flat seat. Forstner bit to make shallow candle holder and a friend lasered five names for me. Not sure how they will be displayed--individually or as a group.
  8. I knew it would look great after seeing the WIP, but it came out better than I thought. The finish really popped.
  9. Really neat. My brain just doesn't work that way.
  10. I will add to the chorus extolling your design and execution! Any idea on cutting time?
  11. Jerry, you're hitting just a wee bit too close to home with a lot of these.
  12. Don't worry. It will turn up sometime near winter. Always long after the recut. But, it's looking great.
  13. I noticed the graphic located near the icon is now "generic"
  14. Looks like you've done your usual excellent work! Let me guess--cut with Vermont America blades from Joe's Hardware?
  15. Several in there in that hit just a bit too close.
  16. Don't think a real cake would make it through the mail, so here's a virtual one--just for you. Figured I would just go ahead and throw a whole party for you.
  17. The green flare only showed up on one camera/lens combo so I am assuming it is something equipment related.
  18. Didn't have time to do much metering, just pray the exposure was close enough. Minor solar flares from about 75 to 180 degrees. This was just as totality was ending.
  19. Plywood gives strength. Going with thinner species stock will mean you will have to pay attention to the grain. I have cut hundreds of ornaments from 1/8" ply and there folks here using 1/16". Using good quality Baltic birch ply wakes all the difference as there generally no gaps or patches.
  20. I done business with them a few times and it is simple, quick and great quality. Not a paid endorsement, but this late in life I don't think I have to worry about amateur status--so if the family would like to sponsor an aging scroller--I would be their spokesman, wear their gear and show the sawdust I made with their product.
  21. I see quite a few blade changes in your future! This is going to keep you busy for an hour or two . What type of wood and thickness?
  22. Ray-- No need for apologies. You're dealing with enough at home and if you happen to step on someone's toes here, they can howl, but everyone with half a brain will understand. Best wishes for a speedy, complete recovery on the hip.
  23. Had a high draft number in 73 and then had student deferments. Later (78), when I tried to enlist, I was deemed medically ineligible due to bee sting allergies.
  24. Well, now I have to put on a jacket prior to purchasing nutritional ice as we host a seminar on why it's cooler in winter and warmer in summer.
  25. I used to do a lot with Aspen. Very soft, scrolls great with flat blades, but drinks finish to the point where you think you will never get a "shell". Slightly better with thicker glazes.
