  1. Central Indiana sending greetings. There are no secrets here, so ask away.
  2. Have a couple of family members who are big Kentucky basketball fans. I made these logos to attach to one of my team spirit frames covered with wildcat fabric. These are approximately 3" wide. Two layers to get all the color margins as close as possible.
  3. Rolf, just an idea--put an AM radio near the machine tuned to a static part of the band (if such exists in your area) and listen for changes in the static. Not nearly as good as seeing the noise, but you might get lucky that way.
  4. Love the backer. Really finishes the piece.
  5. It's Wednesday, so she has choir practice until about 2030, so it will probably be pizza.
  6. Page 9 of the Spring issue. My subscription runs until Summer 25. I think the subscriber base is probably strong enough, but there HAD to be a ton of reject coming from lack of newsstand sales.
  7. Just saw an ad stating that SSW&C would not be on newsstands beginning with the summer issue. Wish them all the luck publishing in today's market for magazines.
  8. A more expensive saw makes a minor difference in that it is more solid, easier blades changes, etc. I started with a single speed Delta from a pawn shop, moved to a Hitchai, then a Dewalt and now a Pegas. The first two were purchased solely on price and immediate availability. The last two were a combination of price and reputation. Each change had something better or easier than the previous. But, was the saw better--or was I getting better? I did have the Dewalt apart a few times lubing bearings and adjusting the tension rod.
  9. Except how and where the battery connects, it looks a lot like my Ryobi. The handle is almost identical and I bet that shaft is going to have a hex attachment where it hooks to the motor.
  10. I will never die. My "gotta cut" list is too long.
  11. Great to see you back around and doing okay. I tried the consignment deal with my state quarter magnets and it was a bit hit the first month, then turned into a steamy pile after that.
  12. I'm with @meflick about 18 months to 40. And, who would ever have thunk it?
  13. He hasn't posted to the other in while also. Could be time of year or maybe he is just doing other things now.
  14. Good to see you around our virtual table again. Dog cutting looks great.
  15. I think you're looking at the same thing.
  16. As a 20+ year escapee from the Shack, let me say if you match the resistance (ohms) and wattage ratings--you only need to worry about physical size. Most (if not all) pots have 3 connectors. The center is usually the common and the outside terms are for whether the internal wiper goes clockwise or counterclockwise. Also, pots are rated linear or audio. Generally, audio pots are more precise. If you can get a close up picture of the stamping on the the pot or if there are ratings on the board, I'm more than happy to try to decipher. Contact cleaner certainly won't hurt. You may have a carbon build up under the wiper where it stays in the same place.
  17. Good to see you posting here again. Here's hoping you are getting settled in.
  18. The first shot is a compilation of cuttings I have given family through the years. (Explains the duplication) Second are a few birdhouses I have done. The birds are displayed separately. Third shot is some designs from this year on 1/4" poplar backers. I also mounted some cuttings on purchased metal blanks. Finally, we move on to Randolph who is Rudolph's not so serious cousin. I have had a blast with this pattern. Some have shiny earrings, some have loop earrings and so on. I love doing ornaments and giving them to friends and family.
  19. Very interesting pattern and great cutting.
  20. I did shipping and receiving for a truck dealership and every once in a while, I would come across some nice wood in a pallet. (Battery reciprocating saw always nearby) Even found some spalting a couple of times.
  21. That is absolutely neat!
  22. Really good looking production. Now, go shovel up all the sawdust and dropouts.
  23. I'm right there with you.
  24. Good looking cabovers.
  25. Great idea and beautiful execution of the design.
