photo converter

I'm in the middle of a portrait at the moment, Photos hopefully by Thursday, and I find GIMP does what I need. However I came across a free photo converter through FB that I thought might be useful to some people.

Thanks so much for this. I tried it myself and was able to enlarge the image and also to do it in a red line drawing. Fantastic site.

Gave it a try after getting rid of Ad Blocker for the site. Nothing happened, so back to the drawing board. Couldn't upload pic.

OK gang. Could not get the program to work using firefox browser. But lo and behold, using edge browser, worked like a charm. Definitely will be useful in pattern designing.

I got it to work fine in Chrome. Didn't try FF. Odd how some sites are weird this way...

Just tried FF and it worked for me. Strange...

Worked for me in FireFox.  Maybe you has some extension in your FireFox that is blocking something.

I gave up on Firefox about 3 years ago. Way too many problems. And I had used it exclusively for 20 years. I use Chrome now but I may switch to the Edge. I am also using Bing for my search engine. Google has become way too powerful and intrusive.

Thanks Jim. I have heard of Opera but never gave it much of a thought. Does it work in the same way as Chrome? I guess I'll have to install it and give it a try.

The only thing chrome has that opera does not is personal accounts

I find opera to be the best of chrome and FF, the only thing is when you install it does install as the primary browser with no option, but if you don't like it or want to reside but de default, just make one of the others the default.  I have chrome, FF, opera and tor installed

Do you use Edge at all? I haven't used it yet and from the Logo I get the impression that it is just I E in disguise.

Jim, I installed Opera and had a bit of a time with getting my password keeper program installed but all is working great now. I'll let you know how it goes. So far, so good.

Ray, no I have not used IE or edge since an alternative came out long ago.  I used FF mainly for a long time (called mozilla back then), then I went to Opera, do a search for an opera extension "Tabs to front" and install it, if like most of us that is your preferred method in FF

I just got a semi-custom win10 system shipped in, partly cause turbotax will not work on win7 this year, and partly cause my present home brew system is starting to give me fits.  My plan is to install a win7 drive so I can use my legacy programs that I depend on, and a linux drive, then dual boot (I don't think they have coined a "tri-boot" name).  At restart it will default to the op sys I set, but allow me time to choose one of the others when I wish

Does Opera work on a Mac Desktop computer?  I could not tell from their site,, maybe I missed it.  One picture did show an Apple symbol.

Thanks Jim, what exactly does that extension do? Tabs to front is new to me.

when you click on a link to open it in a new tab, it bring the new tab to the front rather than leaving you on the same tab

in FF you can set that in settings, opera you can not

Didn't think my obstinate Firefox would generate such a good discussion. But browsers are like your easy chair, once you get used to it one doesn't throw it out until the stuffing is on the floor. Meanwhile, I did a family picture on the site, converted it to a JPEG (free with internet conversion site), threw the JPEG into Photoshop and did some tweaking. Enclosed file where I'm at. Will need more work, but it's coming along. Not a pattern maker, but tried doing the original picture on Photoshop alone. What a nightmare! So this program as far as I'm concerned has it's place.
