ROFL  that last one!  The other day, one of my work-from-home days, I was a few minutes late getting back upstairs after lunch.  Wife was worried that I'd get in trouble, so I told her I'd apologize as soon as I was logged back in (she REALLY doesn't know my laid-back boss).  So I did...told him there was a traffic jam on the way back from lunch.  One of our dogs, Flynn (Dane/Bloodhound mix), was laying on the landing at the top of the stairs.
