Sorry to hear that Jim.. hoping this virus crap gets over with soon.. but I'm betting we'll be dealing with this for another year yet. I see now most of the states are going up in numbers again now that we've opened back up.. I hope we don't have to shut completely down again..

My sales have slowed up quite a lot as of the last few days.. but that's kinda typical for me during the 4th holiday week anyway.. Guess I need to add fireworks to my inventory if I want sales around the 4th, LOL

Sorry to hear of your woes, but glad the market went well for you.

Stay safe, this virus doesn't discriminate, I have a friend who spent 90 days in hospital and was so bad at one point they asked the family if they could turn of the machines. 😱  He's home now but has a lifetime of damage to live with.

Stumbled into one last sale for this year at a remote neighborhood and had a great sale Saturday. Halloween. I sold 13 boxes and other items like toys. I did this sale as a favor to help to a friend that was running it and did not expect for it to be worth while, but it turned out to be the best sale of the year for me. Go figure...

At one of my early summer sales, I made a contact with a person that works with a local sorority and she ordered over 100 of flat Masonite items for the young ladies to decorate.  She came back this fall with an order for 32 small cedar boxes .  Very small  4"x3" x2" with hinged lids with very simple decorations.  I like orders like this.  More time spent making things than selling them.  I am pretty good at selling but it bores me.  MUCH prefer to make stuff than sell stuff!    I usually get one or two orders like these most years.

That's great to hear. Those kinds of orders that keep you in the shop are my favorite too.. and also those that return every year with similar easy orders.. I have a person that orders every year for the past 5 years.. just a desktop or shelf sitter word.. a different word every year.. she always orders about 30 of them small size.. like 4-5 inch wide x 1/2" tall and then another larger one which is usually about 8 wide and 3 tall.. Easy $250 order every year.. she just contact me for this years word.. Not sure what they use them for.. I'm thinking a bible study or school or maybe a senior home etc.. They like them made from pine no finish or anything.. just cut and sand fuzzys off, LOL

I received another small order from a returning customer today.  She purchased ten sets of four Texas shaped coasters a month ago.  She plans to give them as gifts and now wants two Texas shaped serving treys 12" across.  I have them made and started applying the finish.  I am sure she will like them,  I do.  She may want more of them.
