kmmcrafts Posted June 9, 2020 Report Posted June 9, 2020 Welcome to the Village, I've never cut metals but I would think you'd want a fairly slow to medium speed.. I'd think maybe the bigger question is what blade would you plan on using.. @hotshot cuts coins so he might be the best one to help you through some questions about cutting metals.. Quote
hotshot Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 Kevin is right, speed is less important than the blade. If you are going for high detail, you will want to use Pike Jeweler blades. For coins, I dont' use anything bigger than 2/0 or 3/0. If you are cutting pieces larger than a coin, you might go with a larger jeweler blade. I would start out with a slow-ish speed and work your way up. If you start breaking too many blades (heat will cause issues), then slow it back down. amazingkevin and Roberta Moreton 2 Quote
Woodmaster1 Posted June 26, 2020 Report Posted June 26, 2020 I found it easier when the brass is sandwiched between two pieces of plywood. Quote
