Dragonkort Posted July 17, 2020 Report Posted July 17, 2020 Ok like i said in another post i ordered a cnc machine Id ,like to download some patterns for it and have found a few sights that have free cnc patterns but they dont say HOW to download the patterns... if any of you know sights for free cnc patterns could you let me know where they are? espically patterns for beginners.... and could you tell me how to go about downloading them? i know its proubly a real easy process but i dont know f you just down load the picture or if theres some kind of code or something your suppose to download yup your right i have no idea what im doing or how to go about doine it!!! but hey thats never stoped me before!! lol its how i learned to do the many different crafts i do lol by reading books and looking things up on line and now i have a sight i can go to to help me get the answers i need.... the good thing about being housebound for 18 years was that i had plenty of time to teach myself how to sew knit crotchen and all the other crafts i know how to do...lol and dont ask me what the downside of having been housebound for 18 years is.....i dont see one lol but other people seem to think its a horrable thing.lol i know with my emboridy machine i have to use the code pes patterns to work with my machine and then it downloads a code of some kind that the machine reads in order to emborider the picture... so im woundering if the cnc patterns are downloaded the same way.. i tried doing a search on how to download cnc patterns but it just sent me to a sight that had free patterns which of course was nice but they didnt expline how to download them wel i hope that makes a least a little sense!!! and thanks guys amazingkevin 1 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted July 17, 2020 Report Posted July 17, 2020 I think it's going to depend upon the software your cnc will use.. you may need to wait until you get your cnc or maybe look up the info on the software the cnc uses.. My cnc program will use most any image and then in the program it came with ( v-carve desktop ) I can change the image details to work with the cnc.. The cnc itself uses G code but the v-carve program changes it all automatically.. once I put the vector file in the software.. I'm not real sure how to explain it.. considering I'm new to the CNC as well.. and you are going to be running a different program so I'm probably not going to be of much help, LOL I would go to youtube.. and look for videos that pertain to the model of CNC you bought and I'm sure there are some videos on how to do most anything you want to do on there.. Not too many here on this site are into CNC or know anything about them.. don watson 1 Quote

don watson Posted August 1, 2020 Report Posted August 1, 2020 I'm with Kevin on this. You Tube is your friend. A quick search with the name of your machine should throw up a pile of things to experiment with. I am also new to CNC and as Kev says there are not many on here use CNC so it is good to look at You Tube and find your machine. There is a facebook page for your machine at https://www.facebook.com/groups/2051281978515959/ Quote
