jollyred Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 I have had good experience with Ocooch hardwoods. They have wider sizes, up to 12", and so far very good quality. Tom JimErn and ben2008 2 Quote
Fedido Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 What Jollyred said! I also go to the big box store close to me and get my oak and pine. Oak for the grain and pine for stuff I paint. Quote
dgman Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 Ochooch is the place for scroll ready wood, but for the most part, I mill my own lumber. I buy rough cut lumber from a hardwood dealer. I have a full wood shop in my garage. I resaw the wood on my band saw or table saw. Then plane it to thickness with my planner. If I need wider boards, I’ll use my jointer to joint the edges and then glue up the width I need. The only thing I lack is a drum sander. It’s on my wish list, but I’ve done without one for over twenty years. The drum sander will have to wait for when I win the lottery! GusGustin 1 Quote
