Dragonkort Posted August 29, 2020 Report Posted August 29, 2020 Well my son didnt bring my grandson out until late this afternoon so we didnt get very far....we went over safity rules, wearing ear protion and eye protction...and then we went over the different parts of the saw and praticing put on and taking off blades.... I had forgotten how complex blading that old delta was!! lol but it didnt daunt the boy hes still just a ready and eager to learn as ever. Grandma how ever is having a few problems with the teaching.... its HOT in the woodshop and of course the saw is on a lower table so he can comfortably reach it which means grandma has to bend over A LOT to show him how to do things....the combation of the two is amost more then i can cope with. hopefuly tomarrow will be a little cooler in there.... I should have asked my heart dr if my heart conditon could be effecting my breathing as well as my lungs but i didnt think about it.... actualy i never think about my heart unless im at the heart drs lol it dosnt bother me in any way and it doest hurt sooo.... i have other things to think about lol ....but after my last heart ultra sound he took me off my old meds....so im not taking anything right now and gave me a new med to start monday i think it is... then i have to go back in end of sep beging of oct so he can see if it makes a difference... personaly not taking them at all dost seem to be making any difference anyway...but what the heak whats one more of less pill to pop...or actualy 2 as the new med has to be taken twice a day....anyway spike is going to help me with the lessons on how to use the saw and im going to see if i can find a lower chair to put in there for when im supervising connor...i have a bar stool in there now that i use to sit on when im scrolling on my saw as i cant stand for very long anymore.... it never ceases to amaze me how much healther spike is then me...He s 73 and although hes a bit slower then he used to be he dosnt have any real problem doing anything he wants to do. while at 62 i can bairly breath anymore and i cant stand or walk for even a few minutes at a time.... which is why it took so long to make the darn bread....... ah well... its NOT going to get me down! my body WILL DO what i tell it to! there now i feel better and things will go better tomarrow.... and now im off to bed lol to watch tv with my wounderful little heating pad intill ist time for the boy to go to bed lol i let him stayup till midnight but he never really makes it that long lol at ten thirty he has to sit or lie on his blankest on the floor and play his games quitly or watch tv lol and now back to waire house 13!!! lol everybody have a great night!! wombatie, jollyred, John B and 2 others 5 Quote

amazingkevin Posted August 29, 2020 Report Posted August 29, 2020 Everyday is different, I struggle to breath at night lately but deal with it. I have thrown a suit case of meds in the garbage since 2013. Enjoy your time with the new Scroller! Your making a lasting impression on him!!! Quote
Dragonkort Posted August 29, 2020 Author Report Posted August 29, 2020 yes every day is different and although i complain a bit now and then about my body getting rickedy lol i count myself as blessed these past 9 months or soo as i have been almost pain free as far as the headaces and migrines go...and remind myself that the constent non stop migrines and headaces were so much worse!! and i could never get any relief from them where as if i put the back brace spike got me at wal greens on and sit down for awhile the pain in the back eases up or stops....im going to try getting some of those hot stick on headting pad things for my back next time spike goes to the store.....we did some wavy lines today and of course he needs pratcie lol because grandma wavey lines are a LOT harder to cut!! lol i was worried that we might not get to making a project this time around but connor saw a viking ship in his waste wood so we drew up a mast and cut it out and grandma drilled a hole in the ship and wala!! a vicking ship !! lol the wavey ines on the bottom are of course waves lol he was so excited he had to call his mom on the computer and show her all the stuff he cut today and of course his viking ship lol ihavent seen him so happy and excited in a long time!! lol and he was quite proud of himself. lol i told him id take pictures of his cutting today and put it up on the scroll saw sight im on so my friends could see how hes doing today and as he keeps learning.... he was like WOW!! really grandma lol well of course i mean grandmas like to show off there grandchildren and the things they do. lol i was afraid after all of the trouble we had trying to get the old saws going hed be discouraged but he wasnt and was really feeling grown when i told him never mind about the smaller saws we'll just use grandmas saw you can still start cutting today... lol they have a small scroll saw at harbor fright for 69 dollars so tomorrow i'll send spike down to buy it. It will be his christmas present but he wont know that until christmas lol as far as hes concerned it a saw grandma bought so he could saw too lol... i havent felt this way since my kids were little and i taught them how to do the crafts that interested them. kids they get so excited! lol and of course as much as i love doing the crafts i havent been really excited doing them for a few years now. lol its almost as if im learning all over again watching him lol and he has a healthy fear (respect) for the blade. lol he stoped a few times because he felt his hands were getting to close to the blade so i just showed him where to put his hands and told them the more he pratices the better he will get and he will know where to put his hands. i hope we have some time tomarrow before his parents get here to do some more sawing and maybe cut out the parts for a teddy bear or something simple he can do but we will see. and now im going to rest a bit lol darn boy is wearing his grandma out!! lol Quote
