kmmcrafts Posted October 29, 2020 Author Report Posted October 29, 2020 @BadBob This explains why my sales are down on etsy.. These stats are from this month as of this morning.. While stats are up within etsy's traffic views etc.. they are actually way down because of ( I stopped promoting on etsy and put that focus on my website a couple years ago and it's slowly trickling downward. ) Notice my website stats being way up.. that's the traffic I used to bring to etsy.. but now I'm directing it to my website.. not so many selling fees on the website as with on etsy and shoppers can't wonder off into other shops like they can do on etsy... Nothing worst than working hard in bringing the shopper in only to have them wonder into another shop to spend their money.. Twitter, I have a twitter account but rarely do anything with it.. those views are from other twitter users sharing my content on twitter.. such as maybe some of those 906 shared TicTok postings. Same goes for Intagram.. Though on Instagram I used to work promoting there and still put up something from time to time.. Don't think I did any post for this month.. So Those views most likely coming from those that shared my TicTok videos.. This is a screen shot of my etsy stats and my website stats Quote
BadBob Posted October 31, 2020 Report Posted October 31, 2020 Etsy sale rook a nose dive for lots of people about the same time as school started back. I had just had the largest month ever and then nearly nothing, but still more than last year at this time. Since I am home/virtual schooling my grandson, 3 to four days a week, I think I know why. They are too busy to shop. kmmcrafts 1 Quote

Look in your direct views and see if TikTok shows up in there. I have been wondering if it would. I know from experience running web servers since about 1992 that every hit on a web page has a source address, which is logged by default. However, for some reason, Etsy chooses not to give us all the info. I wish they would give me my logs. I can run my stats. I guess I am going to need to teach myself google analytics. Quote
kmmcrafts Posted October 31, 2020 Author Report Posted October 31, 2020 Etsy won't show tictok.. ( I don't think ) I never seen it in there.. but I do use google analytics.. Way better than most any ecommerce website stats that I've ever been on.. Takes a while to learn it though.. Unfortunately ( maybe changed now ) but google analytics won't work on etsy.. They used to have us get our stats from there when I first started.. but then they wouldn't allow it after they installed their own stats page.. so.. I stopped using it for etsy.. still do for other sites though.. Quote
BadBob Posted November 1, 2020 Report Posted November 1, 2020 @kmmcraftsI'm a babe in the woods when it comes to Google Analytics. I configured my analytics as soon as I got the shop up. I checked the Etsy settings an the settings for Google Analytics is still there. When I looked at Google Analytics it look like it was working to me. I saw someone in my shop in real tome mode and its looks like it is counting hits for Etsy. When I look at the hit counts in the property settings they jive with the Etsy stats. I don't know how to do much with the reports and such, but it is getting those counts from somewhere. I'd much rather have a log output and generate my own reports. TikToc should show up under the Direct & other traffic provided TicToc is sending a properly formatted request and Etsy isn't filtering it out. If they are only sending the source IP address and Etsy doesn't do a reverse lookup it will not get listed. I wish they would list the source IP addresses so I coulds look them up myself. kmmcrafts 1 Quote
BadBob Posted November 2, 2020 Report Posted November 2, 2020 @kmmcrafts My Google Analytics is working. I Configured a view for my shop and it is collecting data. Google changed something and my old views were not working. Now I have to figure out how to filter my access out. kmmcrafts 1 Quote
