papa joe Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 I'm making an ornament that needs to finished before assembling, will super glue adhere to stain? Quote
Rolf Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 (edited) It should, as long as it is dry. Try a sample before you commit to your real project. Edited October 6, 2020 by Rolf Dan, John B, RabidAlien and 3 others 6 Quote
amazingkevin Posted October 7, 2020 Report Posted October 7, 2020 If you want to make bullet proof super glue just put backing soda on the joint and saturate it with regular super glue! And let it set up good. I m not sure how long to let it set but Google will tell you. I do know it gets very hot! John B 1 Quote
Norm Fengstad Posted October 11, 2020 Report Posted October 11, 2020 never thought of baking soda, I have used a dab of water seemed to work with the CA type glue Quote
new2woodwrk Posted October 11, 2020 Report Posted October 11, 2020 (edited) If it were me, I would use my dremel and take off a small area of stain on the pieces to be glued so I am gluing wood to wood I just went through this with a few pieces, gluing eyes to our ghosts. Then used e6000 to adhere Edited October 11, 2020 by new2woodwrk Quote
