This is my variant of an Adirondack chair.  I have made a little over a dozen of these in the last few years.  The "themed" ones like this take quite a bit longer than just a stained one.  I actually forgot how much longer they take!  On these themed ones I paint everything prior to assembly and then do some touch up painting before the poly.  The stained ones are assembled and then stained/polyed.  I use what Lowes calls Whitewood.  It looks pretty much like construction grade Pine but is cleaner, less knots, and usually straighter.  I have had parts for two chairs rough cut out for over a year just in case someone wanted one.  I'm glad that I didn't have to buy the lumber now due to the crazy high prices.  Another guy at work wants 3 like this but different teams.  I will probably tell him to pick one for now and I'll make the other two later when lumber prices come down unless he wants to pay the extra cost.  These chairs are super comfortable and heavy duty.  I moved one from my back porch to my living room prior to my back surgery a few years ago to sit in while recovering.  I was able to "rock" the chair to aid in getting up.  LOL All this one needs is several coats of poly to "bury" the decals and it will be finished.  I usually burn my signature into the upper back slat support but the dark blue paint would have made it hard to see.  So I just cut out a little design on the scroll saw and burned into it.  I will attach will a couple of small brass nails and a dab of glue.

You are master at chair makings, lot’s of patience and super quality of workmanship

Thanks,, but not too difficult.  Just cutting, screwing and bolting.  No joints of any kind or anything fancy like A New Yankee Workshop worker would do!  LOL

Well, please let me compliment you on the craftsmanship and the woodworking job.  However, I confess that I think you got the colors and the decals off and could have used something much better. 😉☺️ (Said a die hard TN fan and mother of a GA Dawg. 😉🙂) Seriously though nice chair.

Great looking chair.  I like the design and the simple construction.  Did you purchase a pattern or is this your own design?

Thanks!  I bought a pattern years ago and made a few changes.

LOL  I don't watch much college ball.  I have made 3 Chicago Bears chairs and several stained ones as well.  Another guy at work wants a Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves and a Florida Panthers hockey chair.  I told him to slow his roll!  I'll make him the Cowboys chair for now and wait for the lumber prices to come back down before making the others.
