Discord chat server

I haven't been here long but have enjoyed reading all the posts. Had a thought if anyone is interested or maybe its already been a thought. 

Would there be interest in creating a Discord chat server for the group? 

Discord is an instant messaging chat platform that is nice to quickly speak with people from all over the world. You can create many different rooms that can be used for pictures, general chat, questions, and more.   There is also a voice chat feature if people are so inclined. 

This is not to take away from the forum group since this is a great way to browse for patterns and show off work to everyone. Just seeing if there is interest.

Discord has a good computer program platform and a phone app.  I'm still learning about discord myself but have thoroughly enjoyed it so far.

Not for me I'm afraid. I like this forum just the way it is. 

There is a 'chat' facility on here for those that wish and I find with the time differences that to 'quickly' speak to someone would more than likely mean waking them up, and if someone rang me to speak to me at 2am in the morning I'd be less than impressed. 

There is also many different rooms here too for pictures, general chat, questions etc so in my opinion it would just mean doubling up on what we already have.

I know that Discord would not be for everyone and not looking to replace the forum by any means. This is a wonderful platform. 

It would be doubling what is already here in some regards but just something fun to add to the group if there is interest.  

Completely understand about notifications at 2am in the morning, you can change settings so it doesn't notify you constantly.

I am relatively new here also. I basically lurk searching for answers, as there are people much more knowledgeable replying. I like the Idea of discord server. Perhaps you can get an answer to a question quicker, Im the impatient type. The settings feature is a great Idea for people who do not want to participate or only during certain hours.
