Helenm2807 Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 I've been convalescing for the last three weeks after my accident in my workshop, going slowly round the bend with boredom 'cos I can't use my thumb, when I came across a comment about a Hegner scrollsaw on one of the forums. Wondering about the cost of one of these I nearly had a fit when I saw the price of a new one - £595 ($970) is a lot of money. So next stop was Ebay and.. what d'ya know? I got one second hand for £155 ($253). It is an older model - a Multicut 2 (no 'S' on the end), and its a bit battered round the edges, but it cuts beautifully. Only thing is - there's no manual with it so I don't know what the various bits are called if I want to order spares. Can anyone help me out? H. Quote

Helenm2807 Posted June 5, 2011 Author Report Posted June 5, 2011 Hi Shutterbug, Thanks for the information on scroll saw blades. I'm actually after the manual for the Hegner Multicut 2 Scrollsaw. Thanks. H. Quote
Dan Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Helen, Great find on the saw. As for the manual, you may try to call Hegner. I'm sure they would be glad to send you a manual (or sell you one). Dan Quote
toolbeltman Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Congrats on the new saw Helen. This might get you what you want.... http://www.advmachinery.com/manuals/H-manual.pdf Hope this helps...I'm not sure if your exact model will be on there but it covers most of them... Quote
Helenm2807 Posted June 6, 2011 Author Report Posted June 6, 2011 Thanks to everyone for the help offered. I have now managed to track down a manual and will be able to service my machine properly (and perhaps stop some of the strange 'unscrollsaw-like' noises its been giving out). Thanks again. H. Quote
Lucky2 Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Helen, I hope that the unscrollsaw-like noises aren't the reason that you got the saw so cheap. Len Quote

It sort of 'Huffs' after its been on a little while. I think it just needs a the dust clearing out of it. I'm going to take it apart and give it a really good clean at the weekend. (Well that's what I'm telling myself - I'm having too much fun using it at the moment. ). H. Quote

Helenm2807 Posted June 12, 2011 Author Report Posted June 12, 2011 Hi Kev, I don't want to bore you with the details but if you're interested check out my post 'Darn It'. Doc has just signed me off from doing Carpentry work for another two weeks as I still can't use power tools yet, but I'm hoping to be able to go back a do a bit in the office as I can use a computer. Am waiting to see what HR say tomorrow. At least I am getting to do some design work. H. Quote
