Variable-Speed Scroll Saw - DW788 NO TABLE | eBay I saw that one myself as I'm looking for my first saw myself. There is actually a guy on my local Craigslist selling a Dewalt table/trunnion for $100 but for the one on Ebay by the time you add everything up it is too close to the price of a new Dewalt. I know that I should just bite the bullet and get a new Dewalt from Amazon but for some reason I'm hesitating on pulling the trigger and am kind of enjoying searching the classifieds for a deal. I think that it's because I'm really not sure how I'm going to take to the hobby ... Rob OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted March 31, 2021 Report Posted March 31, 2021 Personally,,, I would not pay$260 for a dewalt 788 that had no table.. I have seen too many for around that price or just a little more, with a table... I sold the one I had, in good shape with a Jim Dandy lift and table for $250.. Keep in mind I bought it as a "remanufactured" like I do a lot of my tools, so I did not pay new price when I bought it... It was better than new,,, I love to buy remanufactured tools.. they have been fully tested before sale.... only a few "new". are,,, but a table for one of those saws may not be easy to find,,, cheap. OCtoolguy Posted April 1, 2021 Report Posted April 1, 2021 There's been a table & a light near me on C/L. Not sure why. Quote
kmmcrafts Posted April 1, 2021 Report Posted April 1, 2021 Yeah, I feel it's a bit pricey.. I sold my DW788 type 2 that had been rebuilt once but was starting to make some noise again.. I sold it with every bearing new to rebuild it again, but I never got around to actually rebuilding it. Saw was with stand, maglight, foot switch, jim dandy easy lift, and $200 in receipts to for the new parts ready to be installed. I offered to do the rebuild but they wanted the saw right then and there.. sold to them for $250.. was working fine, just started getting a little louder from a slightly worn bearings.
