jblock9907 Posted April 3, 2021 Report Posted April 3, 2021 I have a Home Depot band saw that is about 20 years old. Repair parts are pretty much non existence so I'm in the market for a new 14 inch bandsaw. Most of the ones I have looked at are not in stock and no one knows when they will be available. I did find a Porter Cable from Lowes. Has anyone had one of these or know someone who uses it? Most of the reviews are very unfavorable But most of the reviews are several years old. Any input would be greatly appreciated. amazingkevin 1 Quote
WayneMahler Posted April 3, 2021 Report Posted April 3, 2021 I looked at that saw. Has a 6 inch resaw capacity . To me the whole saw looked cheap and the fit and finish left a lot to be desired. That coupled with the reviews turned me away. I was looking at the Laguna 14-12. More powerful motor, more resaw capacity and a much better fit and finish. It also is one of the top rated in it's class. I'm just waiting on the funds to get one. amazingkevin 1 Quote
dgman Posted April 4, 2021 Report Posted April 4, 2021 if I were in the market for a band saw right now, I would choose what I really want and order it. Everything is on back order because of the backlog of cargo ships waiting to anchor in the ports. Now that the epidemic is starting to ease up somewhat, things should start coming back into stock. It took me three months to get my new Pegas scroll saw, but it was worth the wait! Quote
