Hawk Posted August 13, 2021 Report Posted August 13, 2021 Well, we are on our first extended camping trip in our new to us motorhome. As I'm still searching for a scrollsaw that is a bit more portable than my Delta P-20 I picked up some woodcarving tools to give that a go. Turns out I'm really not a woodcarving as a backup I also brought along a segmentation piece I'm working on to work on basic shaping of the pieces. It's a Judy Gale Robert's pattern. I started this this past winter and with lumber prices being what they are I made a blank fron 1 x 3 pine straps I had left over from a home project last summer. This is where I'm at so far. Sitting at the campsite, making sawdust, under the awning is pretty relaxing. I'm using a Dremel with sanding drums at 80,120 and 240 grit to get the basis shaping and will finish up at home with the flex drum. I will be using acrylics to give this color, extremely lite coats as to let some grain thru. Also a pic of my "traveling " setup. Chris meflick, frankorona, Dak0ta52 and 4 others 7 Quote
