I have shut off valve that I shut off and run it until it runs out to keep the carb from gumming up etc.. Always add gas stabilizer to it but It's been almost a year so I need to drain it and use the gas for mulching my leaves with the mower this fall to use it up. I don't like leaving un-used gas around for too long.. I get a lot of free equipment from folks that leave old gas in mowers, generators etc.. then they don't start so they buy new and give them to me.. Hawk Posted November 1, 2021 Report Posted November 1, 2021 I used to do that portable generator thing, but getting up at 2 am in the cold, windy wind doesn't work for me anymore. Had a stand by generator installed, 2 weeks later we lost power for 2 weeks ( a dam near us collapsed took out power for a whole lot of folks) I was certainly glad I didn't have to worry about gas ans such ( generator runs on natural gas).
