Hello All,

I was sent over from the Canadian Woodworking forums to try my luck here with finding someone who has the same saw I inherited, or can point me to a place I can find it, because I can not find even a mention of this saw existing during my searches. It is a Sears/Craftsman 16" VS Scroller with digital speed display, model #572.286950. I will be able to post a few pictures of it when I get back to the shop(my basement) in a couple hours.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

If it helps at all.  This saw uses the same casting/parts as the 2-speed Dremel 1671.  When I was gathering saws for my troop, I purchased both this saw and the Dremel.  The Craftsman was missing the safety gear and light, and the Dremel had all of the parts, but was a piece of junk and broke blades within seconds of turning it on, and no matter how much I tweaked it, it never really cut well.  So, I ended up using all of the parts from the Dremel that were missing on the Craftsman, and ended up with a complete saw.  The Craftsman cuts rather well, and the boys loved the digital speed read-out.

So, if you are in need of any parts, when conducting your searches, be sure to include the Dremel 1671.  Better yet, if you search Craigslist, those Dremels come up often and are dirt cheap.  If you find a complete one, you can buy it, and use the parts for your Craftsman, and toss the rest.  The Dremel uses a plastic insert instead of a metal one, which my Craftsman has, but even that plastic insert will fit.  If anything, you can use it as a template for making your own out of some aluminum or wood.
