Dan Posted March 28, 2022 Report Posted March 28, 2022 After watching a few videos on improving dust collection on my bandsaw this is what I came up with. Before the mod, any dust that didn't make it into the lower wheel area built up on the guides and bearings under the table. It was always a mess to clean up. Now, I added the 2" hose and a crevice tool below the table. I've attached it to the pin on the side of the table. It now collects about 99% of the sawdust. What a difference. Since I have to remove the pin to change the blade there are no extra steps to do that. I can still access the bearing and guide blocks with the tool installed. TAIrving Posted March 29, 2022 Report Posted March 29, 2022 Very nice Dan. I am putting that in my list of desired upgrades to my shop. Quote
flarud Posted March 29, 2022 Report Posted March 29, 2022 I just added dust collection to my shop about a month ago. My bandsaw is on one leg of it. Just wondering,, if you turn that "wye" around, would you get even better suction? Dan 1 Quote
dgman Posted March 29, 2022 Report Posted March 29, 2022 As a plumber, I agree with Barry. The wye is backwards as far as water goes, but I don’t know if it is an issue for suction. Either way, it a good solution! Quote

Yeah, I had it on the correct way, then removed it to do some additional cleaning. I never even noticed it was on backwards. Thanks for pointing that out. John B 1 Quote
Hawk Posted April 17, 2022 Report Posted April 17, 2022 Great idea, thanks for sharing. Now I have another project on the list. At this rate I'll never get to the end, and I love it !! Chris Quote
