This past year, In the state I live in, the now charge for the bags, if you don't bring your own.  The new $.08 a bag are made of plastic about 4 times heavier than the free plastic bags they use to use.   These for sure will never break down if buried in a land fill.

They've recently outlawed the plastic produce bags here in The People's Republic of Taxifornia!
