GrampaJim Posted January 5, 2023 Report Posted January 5, 2023 Short of a brand new table, and ideas for refurbishing it? Mine is getting ugly since I am a top feeder and often miss feeding the blade through. Not really interested in an auxiliary table on top. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted January 5, 2023 Report Posted January 5, 2023 I'd probably take it to a powder coater. scrollingforsanity 1 Quote
Solution munzieb Posted January 5, 2023 Solution Report Posted January 5, 2023 (edited) I had a similar problem a while back. My wife found a solution on the internet. Rolled Magnet sheet material. Easy to cut with a scissor and the top does not need to be removed. There is enough material for at least 3 replacements. I've attached info. Not sure about the sheet supplier but there several companies that supply the same material. Edited January 5, 2023 by munzieb add text scrollerpete, Dak0ta52, GrampaJim and 2 others 5 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted January 5, 2023 Report Posted January 5, 2023 If looking to just re-paint it.. only way I'd do it is with automotive paint.. I wouldn't go with any spray can paints unless you want the back side of your project turning the same color, LOL.. If you did go with spray can paint.. wait until the wife is going to be gone for at least several hours, preferably a day or two then put it in the oven on very low heat and bake the paint on.. Just know it'll smell the house up similar to burning plastic. Don't ask how I know and as I said.. a few days for the wife to be out.. that smell doesn't go away very fast. Personally I would go with powder coating as Ray said but a much cheaper option is that magnet sheet.. Probably not a good idea if you cut any metal though Powder coating should be a lot cheaper than a new table though so if the magnet not going to work for you.. I would think you should be able to have it coated for less than $50 Though, inflation has happen a couple times since I messed with anything being powder coated. tomsteve Posted January 7, 2023 Report Posted January 7, 2023 the table on mine started looking rough quite some time ago. the appearnce didnt bother be but there were some scratches from brad nails i didnt quite have sanded down enough. the scratches would cause some pieces to drag a bit. hard block with some 600 grit then a coat of wax and good to go. Bottom line it works great! kmmcrafts and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
