tony coleman Posted January 11, 2023 Report Posted January 11, 2023 Recently I bought a small table saw ,online for what I thought was real value, It was brand new out of the box,I searched local but ended buying online as it worked out cheaper, anyway the saw worked fine for about 2 hours work then went dead,I reported the problem too the company I purchased it from and now they want me to send it back too them, fine, yes they are paying but it sure is a inconvenience, the moral of this story is you get what you pay for Dave Monk 1 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted January 12, 2023 Report Posted January 12, 2023 I gotta say there is a bad apple in every brand at some point and time or another... That being said back in 1997 I bought a cheap tradesman brand table saw for a home remodel project.. I used the the crap out of that saw until I upgraded last year to the Dewalt table saw... I bought that saw on clearance for $79 with a stand.. sold it for $50 when I got the new saw. About 5 years ago I had a bearing lock up in the transmission of it and I took it apart and put a $8 bearing in it.. The motor did smoke when it locked up and it did make it loose power for cutting thick hardwoods which is the reason I upgraded. I informed the new owner before he bought it of that and he had a small project to do with it with thin softwood and so he took it without haggling with me. I figured someone would come and offer $25 or something which I would have took but.. LOL I do like to buy from places where I don't have to hassle with returning by mail if possible.. for instance I buy quite a lot from Home Depot online but if a issue arises I can take it to a store to return it I believe.. Sorry it didn't work out the way you had planned, Are you getting a refund or a exchange? Quote
tony coleman Posted January 12, 2023 Author Report Posted January 12, 2023 I'm OK with the machine being fixed, just as long as its not a reoccurring problem, until the problem happened I was happy with the machine, I know its not for heavy duty work,I have a contractors saw for that,I only got this machine for finer work. kmmcrafts 1 Quote
