I finished planing the elm, now I need to sand it. I didn't have a large enough surface for sanding, so I made a top for the miter saw stand. 22 x 41 x 5/8" plywood (I had a piece waiting for a home).

5/16" bolts, fender washers, lock washers, t nuts recessed into the plywood. with the twist locks , it's a snap to change what I'm using the MS stand for.

Wichita, that looks like the WEN MSA330 Miter Saw Stand. I'm thinking of purchasing one myself. You have any comments about it? Good or bad. Great idea, by the way. If it works, it works!

This is the TB-S550 Universal 124" Miter Saw Stand. I chose this stand because of the overall length, 4 material supports, and the ease of getting more mounting brackets.

For me, the mounting brackets were the biggest selling point. Currently I have brackets bolted to 12" miter saw, 12.5" lunchbox planer, delta scroll saw, router table, work bench; in the near future I plan on mounting the Hegner SS, a 9" band saw, and some sanders.
