Woodmaster1 Posted March 26, 2023 Report Posted March 26, 2023 My friend got several logs of cherry free. If he didn’t take it the burn pile was next. We got 5 pallets on the first sawing. My friend kiln dries his with a homemade kiln. Some of the logs were 31” across. Jronn65, Dak0ta52, jollyred and 1 other 4 Quote

Bill WIlson Posted March 27, 2023 Report Posted March 27, 2023 Saweeeet! Cherry must be plentiful there. In some parts of the country, it's like gold, because it's so hard to come by. It grows like a weed around here. I burned a lot of cherry when I used to heat with wood. Nothing that was of lumber quality, mind you. Around here, wild cherry is prone to ant infestation and it often grows in such a twist, that it is nearly impossible to split by hand. So there is a lot of it that is good for firewood only. Quote
