Yep!  Here in Michigan we have about 12inches and that doesn't include the drifts.  Drifts in some areas are waist deep.  The birds are really hungry.  Besides the sparrows we have house finches, doves and 3 blue jays so far.

Winter also arrived in NW Montana last Thursday. We started at -7 and by Saturday hit a record low of -35. Yesterday was also the day the power went out. Fortunately it was only for about 3 hours. Kudos to the power company for such a quick response. Our neighbors have a standby generator, it failed to start. According to a dealer, at those temperatures propane will not form gas quickly enough to keep the engine running. Not sure what the answer to that problem is. I'm pretty sure the neighbors would have like to have known that at the time they purchased it.
