jimmyG Posted March 9, 2024 Report Posted March 9, 2024 Now that I'm trying to learn how to make frames, I like to keep my router table set up with bit ready to go. Have a Bosch Colt trim router sitting idle in a cabinet so I'm putting it to work. Baltic birch plywood clamped on my work bench and starter pin added so it's usable now and working on a fence soon but probably no dust collection. Just something to quickly run a few profiles... Joe W. Posted March 9, 2024 Report Posted March 9, 2024 A good start! But watch out - you make get the "router bug" and get side tracked from scroll sawing. I fear that is what's happening to me. Recently finished making a large plague for a Navy retiree and used the router/table for the first time in a long time. The results were good and that led me to some routing YouTube videos. It's amazing what you can do with that tool! Good luck in your quest for the perfect frame. Quote
jimmyG Posted March 10, 2024 Author Report Posted March 10, 2024 (edited) So as far as I'm concerned this mini portable router table is good to go. Clamp it where you have space. I have a rolling cart that will leave the mess in the driveway. Fence pivots with locking knob, a clamp on the other side to secure. Starter pin stores under the table. Not high tech but functional !
