Well, it's been a few years since I've attempted an intarsia project.  After reading thru many post's here and doing a lot of "thinking " on it and how after my first attempt what I'd do differently.

I feel now like I may be on the right track for me.

This project is Walnut, Purple Heart,Bloodwood (heart), and what I believe is orange osage.

Cutting is done and went way better than I hoped or thought it would go. Splitting the line is a game changer, and setting up the pieces to he cut is huge. This time I started with about 5 copies of the plan instead of 2, that helped a ton,  I know now prep with the plans on the wood to cut in big.

Anyhow, here it is ready for fitting.

Chris, Looking very good so far, that is some very precise cutting.  Please post more pictures as you progress with this one.  And tell us about the woods you are using, I think I see 4 or maybe 5 different kinds of wood.

Looking great Chris.  I agree - splitting the line makes all the difference.  I ended up making 6 copies of the pattern I am currently working on.  Paper is cheap.  Who's pattern is that?

It's actually a stained glass pattern I git from Birch Glass on Esty. It's a birthday gift for my wife, she's a show dog gal.
