The price depends a lot on where you live.  In the northwest, scrollsaws are a hard sell.  My concern with that one is what kind of care it has received.  I would not try to sell on without even cleaning it up first, and some tools in the background look like they lack care also—just my opinion.  If the seller gives you the serial number, it would be easier to find the age.

Lightly used???!!!!!

Look at the deck. I don't know if that is worn or some kind of stain on the left side, but that is not lightly used.  The bolts in the top of the base also look rusted. The leg has surface rust too.  The tool to the left in the 3rd photo looks like it has not been taken care of, so that might be indicative of the care this saw received.

Clean your tools before selling!!! Why are people so lazy? This costs sales/$$$$.

That being said.  RBIs are tanks, this one is shown running, I didn't hear anything too weird in my earbuds, a little metallic changing sound that was light.

It's been listed for a week.  He might be getting desperate to sell.  Offer $200 and see if he bites.  But I would not pay $300 being that it looks like it was not treated as I would treat my tools.

Looks to me like a 226VS Ultra.. They made the Ultra from 1995 ish - 2004 - 5 ish. Based on the no logo on the rear upright of the saw I'd say it's one of the earlier made saws.. Mine is a 1998 and identical to this one.. best saw I have really..

While I may have pretty much stole mine for $400 still sealed in the original box.. I'd say by the looks of this one it's been in a hurricane outside, LOL.. Probably nothing ever would go wrong with it but I'd be concerned about the corrosion of the electronics of it.. I have never seen one of these corroded so bad that the I.D. plate even corroded.. I've seen rusting screws on the table top and corroded tables but never the I.D. tag..I've seen some really rough looking saws with like new looking tags so this in my opinion has been outside or a very damp garage / shop etc.. Maybe near the ocean?

Speaking of hard-to-sell.  I have been watching this one for many weeks. listed for $350.  She is selling it, was her late Fathers.   Anyway, I made an offer a couple of weeks ago of $275, based on all working well and in good shape. Comes with some blades,  books, a mag light, and a foot switch.  Today, I received a message from her saying her mom wanted to accept my offer.  So, I will go look at it this coming week.

That's a very nice looking saw. Has the wheel kit, shelf kit,  and the front lift / pull handle.. looks like maybe a newer model Ultra.. I'd say probably a 2000 - 2005 year...

Yeah, for some reason the Hawks and a lot of the Hegners really don't bring the money like the DeWalt and EX type saws..

Yeah, I agree with you on that one Paul.. I have top fed before but I learned to scroll on a saw that was bottom feed only so it just comes natural to me.. I can do either way and at one time I tried to make myself do the whole top feed thing.. issue was I get into a rhythm and forget that I was trying to make myself become a top feeder, LOL.. I'd consciously do 1-5 holes and before I knew it I did a whole portrait cut with many inside cuts with only those first few cuts doing top feeding, LOL.. just seems wrong to me when it's just natural to do the way I'd done it so many years.

From looking at the photo/video, I would not pay more than $100 for that saw. Depending on its actual condition, you could wind up spending $100 or more on parts. Not to mention time and labor to clean up that mess.
