Dust collector Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 (edited) Newbie here. I have inherited an older Delta scrollsaw that is missing the bottom clamp to mount a saw blade. All of the sources I have looked at say this part is discontinued. Does anyone in here know of a source for these old parts or have a workaround for this? The model number is 40-560 Type 2. I have included some pictures of the saw and also where the missing part goes if that helps. Thanks for any help. I'm hoping to make this into a retirement hobby. kmmcrafts Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 I rebuilt one just like this that my father bought new back in the late 1980's.. I rebuilt in 2005 and many parts back then were discontinued. I was able to get NOS parts eventually and restore the machine. IF memory serves correct someone bought out a bunch of parts from a dealer and he was selling them online tool website.. I think it was called Mikestools.com ? but not certain.. He may not be around anymore as that was a long time ago. Basically search eBay and garage sales for parts as what is out there in the used market is about the only choice you have. Good luck OCtoolguy and Dust collector 2 Quote
JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 (edited) Are those the old clapper type holders? https://www.renovoparts.com/1346120-blade-clamp-for-delta-power-tools/ If you have the manual that show parts and the numbers, post the number of the part you are looking for here. Or if you have a picture of the part from the manual then show that too. Help us help you. Edited December 27, 2024 by JTTHECLOCKMAN Dust collector and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
Wichman Posted December 28, 2024 Report Posted December 28, 2024 This exact saw is my backup saw after it being my primary saw for 20+ years. Here are some pictures and some data about the parts for the bottom clamp. Hex screw and nut threads are 10 x 32. Nut dimensions are 1/2 x 1/2 x 3/16". Rod to hold clamp in place is 3/16" diameter. Do you have the special tool for the bottom clamp. You can make do with a rod and Allen wrench. I used an extendable magnet tool to hold the nut in place during removal and replacement. Length of screw threads 7/16". Size of original Allen wrench 5/32" Special tool: Nut placement installed: Nut and screw removed from machine: Dust collector and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
Dust collector Posted December 28, 2024 Author Report Posted December 28, 2024 That looks like my saw. At first I thought that it wasn't because of the shadow caused by the blade. I thought that the part was cut at an angle. Silly me. Looks like all I need is the square nut and the m-5 bolt which is easy to find. Thanks for your help! OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Dust collector Posted December 28, 2024 Author Report Posted December 28, 2024 I found this picture of the lower blade clamp online. I need parts 48-52. Already have 49 and 52 on machine, 48 is an easy get, so the only part missing is the square nut and I believe I found that online. Thanks for all the help! OCtoolguy 1 Quote
