Source For Hardwood In Ireland

Hello, This is my first posting on this Forum,I am going to have a go at Intarsia.I have some tools,that is not the problem, I live in Belfast ,Ireland,Would anyone on the Forum know of any contacts for nice Hardwood in Ireland or Britian, I am looking a good supplier.Would anyone in America be prepared to send me small cuttings of nice wood ,that suits Intarsia.I will pay all extras involved,Postage etc,My name is Paul Kane, I live in Belfast. I am 57 years young,4 kids,5 grand children, and the wife still shouts at me.I would appreciate any help that is given

Hi Paul.

I have used a supplier in the North Scotland for some time for hardwoods for both turning and scrolling. He has a large selection of both British and exotic woods and is worth a look at his website. Put Ullapool Woodturning Centre into Google and have a look.

Hi Paul.

I initially emailed Alec with my requirements and he sent the prices back within a couple of days. I would recommend you ring him as he is very knowledgeable about all things wooden and will be able to recommend some suitably coloured woods for your intarsia. I was going to have a try at intarsia myself but health problems stepped in and I didn't get off the ground with it. I have compared his prices with other suppliers and find him to be very competitive and the quality has been very good.
