This piece was inspired by an original painting done by Judy Bragg Pardo (a local artist who is also a friend),

The woods are:

Poplar (dyed a light blue)

Birds eye Maple (dyed a light blue)

Walnut (the sky)

Aspen (the figure in the center)

Sabelle (the frame)

 

Its is my first attempt at intarsia and so may be a little rough looking to you pros. All constructive criticism is of course welcomed.

Actually Travis I need to thank you for those fine tutorials on pattern making that you posted. Your tips on using GIMP where invaluable to me as I worked to make the pattern from the posted picture of the original painting.

 

As for what's coming next... I have at least two clocks in mind for Christmas this year. I'm working out some custom fret work for those. I'll post pics as I finish.
