Need a DeWalt scroll saw part

I have a DeWalt 788 type 2 scroll saw.  I need a part for it, # 330021-00, which is a nut.  Apparantly it has been discontinued.  Anyone who can help me in any way?? Please call me at 919-265-9886.

Ken Home Depot or lowes have nuts such as those. Maybe you can find the right one there. Or go to a hardware store. If all else fails Google is your friend.

Just search online for the part number.. I found several of them at various sites by doing that. Look here https://www.facebook.com/reel/1039979461850624

That said this is likely a metric thread lock nut it looks like.. and likely around $0.75 at a hardware store.

It looks like what I always called a 
"Locknut"

 

Then I asked AI for size and thread of that nut it responded:

I'm curious, how can a part be discontinued or unavailable when they are still building and selling those saws brand new? Am I missing something? I'm 83 years old so it's entirely possible that I've lost it.

I thought it is a bit odd too so you're not alone in your thinking. Also quite odd to be brand new on the forum and not knowing a single person but drop your phone number for people to call you with their answer, LOL... Maybe that's just me because I hate giving out my phone number to anybody really, especially when you have email, and many other means of contact.

I'm wondering if they discontinued carrying it as a DeWalt part because it is a common nut that is carried in most hardware stores and the like.

Same here, I caught a lot of flak from my employer because they would hand it out to anyone. I told them: If you want to be able to call me you nee to supply me with a phone and pay me to carry it.

To me what is strange is it is such a common part that just about any hardware store or big box store carries them. Maybe an odd size but I doubt it. Today there are so many ways to look things up too. Hope they find what they are looking for.
