keefie Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 This is a Charles Dearing pattern of a wolf behind a tree, I started it yesterday afternoon and spent a couple of hours on it today as well (I'm a slow cutter anyway, even slower using spirals lol) I took the picture of the front but you cant see where I have cut so I took a picture of the back too. bobscroll 1 Quote

OutoftheWoodwork Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) Wow... AMAZING Keefie!! Using spirals is rough for me! But I will say, that since I got my new scroll saw, I don't have as much problem with them as I did when I had my Delta. Seems weird but it's a fact. But then again, I've been using them on thicker wood, and not detailed work. Question for you: Do you find it easier, harder, or about the same, to get a good "point" cut? There's a lot of pointy cuts there, it looks like. When I do those, it seems like it's easier to get the detail or "point" with a straight blade for me. jdbcarving Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Very nice work! Great pattern and well done. sometimes turning with a straight blade with that fragile of cuts, you could break sections. Least that's what I do. Spirals take some getting use to, but, your not spinning on a spot either. Well done. Jim Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Brilliant work Keith, looks great. Roly Quote
