Hi Gator:

That was just a very scary warning.

Thanks for posting "your pain" and reminding us all how fast things happen in the shop

Aretha Franklin said it best: R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

That applies not only to people but for your power tools also.

Heal quick, my friend and carry on

Thanks

i cant agree more the whole reason i posted this was i worked side beside a guy for 25 years at a chemical plant .he worked with wood also.he was cutting plywood with a skill circle saw it jumped on top of the wood and across his hand cutting diagonal behind the thumb across the back to the base of the little finger. numerous surgeries to save his hand. lucky he had a wall phone to knockoff and dial 911.he lived alone. i posted this to show my stupidity and hope some of you will take that extra second. be safe guys

I think it's great that you are willing to stand up and say I made a mistake and cautioning others.

I was unclear about what happened. Think of me as a slow learner. You were ripping small pieces of stock on a table say, correct? How small?  Using two push sticks, so fore and aft on a piece or one on top and one on the side? I'm just trying to understand what happened.

Glad your okay because 60,000 end up in the Emergency Room every year.

The words next to the picture say "attatched thumbnails"  surely that should be Detatched thumbnails??

Seriously though you were lucky there, it could have been a lot worse. I was lucky too, I had a fall when my leg gave way while using my bandsaw, luckilly I managed to twist away from the blade and only lost a little bit of skin off three fingers and cut through the nail on one of them too, half inch further to the left and three fingers would have been on the floor. My picture was taken a week  after the accident when the dressings were taken off.
