amazingkevin Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 A job came in for some aluminum doves 6'' x 6'' 0.02 thick.they were cut 4 sheets at a time and clear taped .I could have cut them all on one ironman blade from mikesworkshop.com but decided the extra pushing was'nt good for the saw .i took an hour to cut all of them with two,fd-im #7 28 teeth per inch.then i drilled the eye on the drill press 4 at a time.the lady sets the price at 2 bucks a piece so 80 an hour is great!Guess she can't get an order in from her cnc man. bobscroll 1 Quote
Bishop Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Kevin Those really look great and it sounds like the price was right. You are now working better than a CNC machine, it's amazing what a few hot peppers can do.LOL Great job Thanks God Bless Homer & Carol amazingkevin 1 Quote

Ron Johnson Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Hi Kevin Nice order and I like the doves. The lady should be pleased with what you've done for her. amazingkevin 1 Quote
amazingkevin Posted December 10, 2013 Author Report Posted December 10, 2013 I try but am amazed at the ironman blades .I've been using jewelers blades ,hah live and learn I was thinking about larryEa 's comments and decided to try something different.i have most blades I bought when money was coming in years ago but stick with scroll reverse. Now the metal job here I wanted to save time and stack cut.you can't do that with jeweler's blades they heat up quick and break.so I dug thru my blades and forgot I had ironman blades .Well i'll give it a shot, but im not cutting iron? well then you should be fine then ,(talking to myself) sure enough they worked like a dream and had I used these on other projects of metal I would have won big time in saving blades and time thank GOD for mikes workshop.com 's blades . heppnerguy Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 Kevin, I have never tried any metal cutting, yet. I love all the different things that people do here. You did a great job. I would not have considered cutting all that for $2 each but it paid off for you..it turns out to be better money that $125 for an intarsia piece that takes me 2 to 4 days to make.. So there you go.
