Mikey the macaw needs your help.

Mikey is a foster bird we took in after hearing about her through Dr Bourke and Wilton Parrot rescue. Her owners no longer wanted her and threatened to euthanize her if a home wasn't found. So we offered to foster her. While we have her medical needs taken care of (thank you Dr Bourke!), she desperately needs a new cage. She was brought to us in a cage that barely fits her and is rusty and held together with clamps. She also had no toys but we have taken care of that, although I'd like to get her more

If anyone can spare just even $5 it will really help Mikey. We are currently at $320 out of $400 goal. On the right hand side, you can see pictures of her and a video showing how sweet she really is.

I appreciate your concern but wild birds need to be back where they belong.the bird has wings to soar the heavenly sky's ,loft in the breezes and be free as a bird.Something as beautiful  as this needs to be set free and not keep in a cage smaller than the world..i had birds before and love them but the bird would love to have its heart freed.Thailand people buy animals such as birds and set them free for good luck.

Your concern for Mikey is a valid one but I feel much like Kevin this bird needs a lot more space than a larger cage. I live in a part of the world where these birds are a regular siting flying over head and they are a beautiful sight to see. As much as I appreciate your effort to raise the funds for a larger cage I would much rather donate 50 bucks towards your $320 that you already have if you used the money to fly Mikey to me where I can release her back to the jungle where she belongs.

Hope you'll consider my offer and do the right thing for Mikey's sake.

I feel the same as Kevin and Hans do. It's a shame such a beautiful bird is kept in such a limited space for human's enjoyment. I would gladly donate if Mickey was to be released out of captivity to live out the balance of his life in freedom.
