  1. I didn't lose anyone yet. My dogs are still younger. I Just saw it, and figured I know enough people hat have lost one, that someone may want one. I already have to cut 2 more of them.. I have a list of stuff to cut already to keep me busy through Feb at least is my guess.
  2. So I got an airbrush, so I can do the fades for this. Still learning a good mix for craft paint to not run.. but I think it came out pretty good. So it's about 10x12 from 3/16" maple. Cut with Olson #2/0R blades and a modified Shelia Landry Design. Her original design does not come with the paw prints.
  3. Overall, I seem to like lettering.
  4. I haven't seen Cracker Jax boxes for sale in a while at my local stores. I know it's still made.
  5. I think it was about 6hrs of cutting for me on that.. But not all in one day. I do about 1hr at a time. After that, my back will start to hurt, and if not, the dogs start whining too much.
  6. They got it today. Her husband took it out of the box, went to a picture hanging on the wall, took the picture down, and hung it up. LOL.
  7. Those Santa's are amazing. I love them.
  8. Wow.. how big are these? I can't believe the detail in them.
  9. It didn't come out great, but I replaced the C on the ball cap with a mediocre Boston Red Sox logo.. Was hard to find a clear picture that was 3/8" small. The rest I loved cutting. Except for the root root root part.. too repetitive. LOL I also had a problem with the U in the Buy.. the throat hole on the Seyco is long.. and as I was cutting it, it started bouncing up and down terribly. I tried putting my finger behind the blade to hold it down, but it snapped off. thankfully it was a clean cut, so a little super glue and boom.. can't even tell. After breaking that, I taped a piece of 1/8" thick hard board down, and drilled a 3/16" hole for the blade and it made an awesome zero clearance table. I really want to make one with plexiglass now.
  10. I like the heart gear.. I may have to go find that myself. Thanks for saying where you got the pattern.
  11. Made from 3/16" thick Hard Maple. Measures 12x21 in total. Cut with Olson #2/0R blades. Sheila Landry Design.
  12. Thanks.
  13. The GF asked me to cut this for her parents. Sorry for the shadow at the bottom. Cut from 1/4" Hickory using #2/0R Olson blades. Sheila Landry design. It measures 12x21 in total size.
  14. Depends on what it's made from if you ask me. If it's a ply, Paint it. If it's a hardwood, that would be sacrilege to paint it. Very nice cut. Where did you get the pattern?
  15. I would vote water based poly. Cleanup with water. Just makes it easier.
  16. Any idea when you will have more #2/0R MGT blades Denny?
  17. I got my FD blades.. Honestly.. I tried the Penguin and the Ultra's.. I can't keep either on a line, and they leave a lot of fuzz on the back. I was soo hopeful they would cut as good as the Olson, but Olson seem to cut better. Just wish they had better quality of sharpness.. Maybe after the holiday season and these 2 big projects are done, I can go back and see if it's just me needing to adjust my cutting to match how the FD cut.. But what I found was the FD don't turn sharp corners as good, and they always cut to the right a lot more than the Olson..
  18. Sad that Olson never got back with me.. But my FD blades arrived from Mikes today. Now to see which ones I like best for my hardwood cutting.. the Penguin Silver Reverse, the Ultra Reverse, or the Scroll Reverse...
  19. I have used Olson blades for a long time. I did take a hiatus when I was married. When I got divorced, I started cutting again, and I had like 4 doz blades left over. They all cut great. I new I needed more, and ordered 18 doz from Wooden Teddy Bear. So far, I have gone through about 3 doz, and I am sooo disappointed in them now. I would say 3 out of every 5 blades cut like a dull used blade. Hard to push, cutting on an angle.. I had some blades I got back in like 2011 when I bought my old used Dewalt. Most of them were FD ones. I never used any, because I was comparing them to the Olson #2/0R blades. I looked them up today, and most of them are like #5, #7 of various styles of FD. I did find some FD SP ones.. it was marked 31TPI.. I thought I would give one a try for giggles.. HOLY CRAP it cut fast.. Scary fast compared to the Olson #2/0R. I looked it up and found those are the Superior Puzzle blades. SO I ordered 3 new FD blades to try out. I got one of each.. Penguin Silver Reverse #2/0, Scroll Reverse #2/0, and Ultra Reverse #2/0. I did send an email to Olson, asking if they had a bad batch or what, or if that was just their quality now. I'll see what they say. But I'll also see how these FD ones go. The worse part is that I'm trying to get a large sectional done before Dec 4th, and if I have to wait for blades, I may not make it for the craft show. I do not want to use any more of the Olson ones, incase they come back saying they will replace the blades to keep my happy.
  20. Great setup. You must have a truck or trailer to fit the shelving unit in.
  21. You can order boxes from Uline also. And if you want to get good prices for shipping, get a free account with Pirate Ship. They will quote you based on where, box size, and weight to ship with USPS, UPS, and I think.. DHL or FedEx.. you can then order the label and print it out right from them. You save about 40% on average over standard USPS and UPS costs. A box my parents wanted to send me from UPS was going to be $22.. Pirate ship send it for $14. Pretty good discount if you ask me.
  22. I use a #64 drill bit for all my work. I use this little chuck https://mikesworkshop.com/collections/accessories/products/mini-drill-chuck-with-4-collets but I cut that long shaft off, and just chuck up the solid part. But I almost always use a #2/0R blade. If I go bigger, I have another of those little chucks with a 1/16" drill bit in it, but I really only find myself using it for drilling for the final outside cut, or for a cut if I'm cutting like 3/4" ply for silhouette shapes that will be painted.
  23. I'm in CT and buy all my hardwoods and true BB ply from Parkerville Wood Products.
  24. I couldn't have done it without Grampa's pattern though.
