  1. His owner calls him Oh Oh Othello, or The Weirdo.. but thanks to Grampa for the pattern. Here it is finished. Cut on some 5/32" maple ply. Fit to an 8.5x11" document frame.
  2. Sheila Landry design. https://sheilalandrydesigns.com/scroll-saw-patterns/joy-and-peace-christmas-sectional-pattern/
  3. That is the guy.. but he says where he gets them from doesn't have any right now.. so I'll check back prob Dec or Jan...
  4. I'll have to look him up.. Someone on here posted him, and you msg him on FB... His name from Paypal was Daniel Zimmerman.. Pretty sure this was the guy. https://www.facebook.com/daniel.zimmerman.9849 I sent him a msg asking if he was the guy I got some from. Waiting to hear back, but he does have some pics on his profile of scroll and wood stuff. I'll update this with if that is the guy. But the pics, and where he lives, and the name all match up from where I got it last time. Last time I got it, it was $64 shipped for i think it was 10 boards that are about 7.5x20 and then hou get like 10 that are 3x20.. something like t hat. all of them are about 5/16" thick and kinda rough planed.. but starting at 80grit, and sanding up, they make some nice stuff. a lot of the boards do have cupping on the bigger ones. the thinner ones have some big time bowing.. like a half inch or more over that 20". but if you are cutting small items, that bow won't be noticeable. I wish I had a panel sander to run them through and get them down to like 5/32 or 1/8".. They would make awesome pieces for ornaments. If I had a helix head on my planer, I coudl do it too. but Not sure I want to tear apart my brand new planer to put one in.. can't really afford it right now either.. so I'm saving them till I can afford a helical head.
  5. Thanks all.
  6. So these are double sided. One side is the snowman, and the other is the scarecrow. Made from box store 1x4x5' boards. the plans call to paint on the eyes and nose and buttons, but I have made 3 of these, and I just cut them from some scrap 1/8" thick ply. The flowers are hot glued on, and the scarves and bandanas are stapled on. Smiles are painted on, then the whole thing got a couple light coats of satin clear spray paint. Plans can be found here: https://www.hgtv.com/lifestyle/holidays/how-to-make-a-reversible-scarecrow-snowman-porch-display
  7. Been absent lately.. But I got another project done. Total size is about 12x16 inches. It's cut from about 1/4" thick quilted maple guitar second blanks, using Olson #2/0R blades. It's a Sheila Landry pattern.
  8. Talked to Ray tonight. He gave me a couple things I can look at. He said he will document it, and if it happens again, I can just call back and talk to him or Mike and they can ship me a new speed controller. I can also take the back off the saw arms, and make sure the two cables going to it are not loose. That can cause an issue too.
  9. I've never heard of that brand of blades.
  10. Called Seyco when I got home.. I got someone on the line, and after explaining what was happening, he said he was gonna have Ray call me to troubleshoot.. never happened. But I went down, and turned on the saw, and it wasn't rattling itself apart.. Seemed to be running like normal now.. I have no clue what that could mean. Guess I'll wait to hear back. If not, I'll call Thursday when I'm working from home and can take some time during lunch to talk to them if possible.
  11. You should try the DecoArt Americana paints from Michaels. You can get a staining medium that you mix the paint into. it keeps it thicker, but lets it act like a stain, and you can set how much paint vs medium you want.. I think you would have some real good coloring, and still leave a nice wood grain pattern under it.
  12. I did that yesterday after trying to call them.
  13. Pretty sure on the Seyco, there is the rheostat up at the knob, which is just two allen head screws. I already took that off and hit it with a little air. Looking at parts you can buy from Seyco, it looks like there is a control board back by the motor somewhere. Hopefully I can talk to them next week. Just hoping they are open by the time I get home from work.
  14. Yes, those are not loose.
  15. So are you talking about up where the dial is? Or pull the head off and take the sides off?
  16. Mine is only 3 months old. I bought it on 7/15, and took a week to get here.. so literally 3 months old almost to the day. I called them around 4pm ET but no answer. I left a msg and sent them an email with a link to the video. I was hoping to talk with someone, since 4pm here is only 2pm there, and maybe they could have the part out today.. I'll have to wait till Monday now to talk to them. I only have 2 weeks till I was supposed to go to a market to sell stuff.. so I guess what I have is what I have by the time something gets shipped.. That is the disappointing part.. Now I'll just have to spend my time cleaning the garage. I use mine about 1-1.5 hrs a day 6 days a week on average.. so it prob has about 135-150 hours of use on it. very very low hours.
  17. Everything was running great last time I used it. Today I went to use it. tightened in a blade, and it tried to take off on me.. the saw seemed to be running at twice the normal speed and vibrating like crazy.. Guess I'll have to see what they say could be the issue.. But I guess by the time it gets fixed, I wont' have any more time to cut stuff before I was going to go to the flea market to sell stuff.. So what I got, is what I got.. Unless Seyco can get ma part fast, or tell me how to fix this one.
  18. I don't use spirals.. and it's 16 inches... finished.. so longer before you cut the perimeter. so with the Seyco or Dewalt, you have 8 inches from the blade to table edge.. Pegas is like 4? so you would have 12 inches past the table. If you have a gut like me, you'll be sucking it in and sawing looking like the hunchback of notre dame when cutting the pieces near the ends. LOL
  19. Those are awesome. I have not tried to do any 3D cutting yet. Some day I'll have to try.
  20. Wow.. That is awesome. That is spot on. Superb job.
  21. My favorite woods are Cherry, Maple, and Ash. I've found that some stuff looks real good in Hickory too.
  22. Finished this one yesterday. Measures 7"x16" and is made from 1/4" hard maple, with a ply backer. Cut with Olson #2/0R blades. Sheila Landry Design.
  23. Where did you get the pattern from?
