  1. Amazing cutting. Very nicely done.
  2. That's awesome. Did you use spirals on it?
  3. I did not measure them with a gauge, but they are about 1/16" on the biggest one.
  4. It's the angle. It's easier to read in person. As the walnut darkens over time, the orange should stand out more too.
  5. Here is the gap on the wings. I used a straight edge to level the sides. A 6ft level will touch all the wsy across on both edges, but with the gaps everything dips in the middle. So with the sides level, I get that dip. If I want the middle level, I will be high on both sides.. Dewalt is sending new wings. Hopefully the new ones are flat. If not, maybe a little hammering on a dead flat table can flatten them.. but when you buy something, you shouldn't have to.
  6. I just got my DW735, and not a big fan of it. I'm getting a LOT of snipe with it. I leveled the wings using a straight edge at each side.. only to find that the middle of both tables is about 1/16" below the plate of the planer. so if I set the edges to be level, then I have a bump feeding in, and no support feeding out unless the wood has hit the back edge of the outfeed table.. kinda worthless when doing stuff shorter than say 16".. I'm going to be calling Dewalt today to see if they will replace the wings, since they are brand new, less than a week old.
  7. Someone I know saw the pattern laid out, and claimed it for herself before it was even cut.. but it's 3/16" thick black walnut with a backer. Measures about 10x17. Cut with Olson #2/0R blades. Sheila Landry Design.. (do I even need to mention that anymore? LOL). Backer is painted with 3 different colors. The skull is painted not the board it's on.
  8. It's a pretty simple cut.
  9. Each panel is about 3.75 x 12.5 inches. Total size is 12.5 x 17 ish.. cut from 1/4" maple using Olson #2/0R blades. Has a painted backer and strip. Sheila Landry dedign.
  10. I've been saving all my cuttings to head to one first weekend of November.. I just want more time to have more stuff. My shop time is limited, so it will take me longer to get a good inventory.
  11. Really like the two on the left.
  12. I've had the Dewalt 733 since 2000ish.. It now has some major scratch in the platten that I have no clue how it got there, and is leaving lines down my boards. and it's got a difficult time to get down to 1/4" thick where I do most of my planing. I thought about a 734, but I just ordered the 735x from Amazon. Comes with the tables and extra knives. Not cheap, but next year I want to put a shelix head on it, and I could not get one for the 733. I want to be able to plane down some of that figured and quilted maple. 735X is $615 right now on Amazon.
  13. I use the 3m 77, but for light stuff, I have some Loctite https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-2235316-Performance-Adhesive-Translucent/dp/B079D3XGKX/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1H9LSOIEX9TFV&dchild=1&keywords=loctite+spray+adhesive&qid=1632957961&sprefix=loctite+spray%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-1 I also bought 2 cans of 3M 77 from HD with free home shipping because they were $10 a can and Lowes wanted $20 https://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-16-75-oz-Super-77-Multi-Purpose-Spray-Adhesive-77-24/100067550 Seems HD is showing no home delivery now though for it..
  14. Sheila Landry tells you how to paint it. It uses Deco Art paint with their antique/stain medium which keeps the paint thin, but not watery. So if you mix it, it can just look like stain over paint. I didn't as much medium into like the white and the water as I wanted.. but it still came out good.
  15. I am not doing any more ornaments.. When I cut those 7, I stack cut them, so I have 7 more. But the other 7 actually have runners made from walnut on them. Between those and the 30 other ones left over from years ago.. I have about 50 ornaments total.. Then there are about 10 self framing plaques.. I am done with Christmas.
  16. Haven't posted in a while. Was busy cutting ornaments, and I need to take new pics of them... But here are two new cuts. The Laundry room is 3/8" Ash about 8x10 and cut with Olson #2/0R blades. The heart is 1/4" Quilted Maple. It's about 8x8 and cut with Olson #2/0R blades. The heart finish was not dry when I took the pic. The ornaments are about 2x3 inches and 1/4" thick Ash. All of them are Sheila Landry Designs.
  17. I just got a new batch of blades for my Seyco.. Olson #2/0R. I tried them in some 1/2 inch (2x1/4" stacked) ash, and the first two blades, I cannot get to cut straight, or without a lot of pressure.. I really hope it's only a couple, because I had ordered 18doz blades.. I would hate to have to replace them again.. I don't normally cut that thick, so I'm hoping when I use them in my normal 1/4" thick stock, they don't have an issue.
  18. Got it. Thanks.
  19. I like it. I think the color makes it stand out more.
  20. I think you'll like her stuff.. I had no idea I was going to do it.. I was just trying to have a color pallet to hold up behind it to see what color I liked best.. But now that I've done this, I think I am going to make a set of color sticks with the paints so I can just hold them up behind a project to see what color works with the woods natural color best. Then write on the back, who makes the paint, and what color it is, so I can make sure I buy the right stuff again to match the color stick.
  21. Very nicely done.. Where did you get the pattern?
  22. I know this is simple, but a Co-worker asked me to cut something for her, for a friends wedding. She sent me a pic of a lotus flower with a symbol in it. TD and Grampa. I showed both to her and she chose TD's. So I cut it from some 1/4" hard maple. I think it's about 8x8 inches in size. I asked the lady what the meaning of the lotus and the symbol was to her, and this is what she told me. Always interesting to learn new stuff. Lotus flower is considered very auspicious in Hindu religion. Lot of our Gods are shown seated on the lotus flower. It also teaches us how it blooms in the muddy waters but the leaves and the flower is always clean and pure. That's how we should stay in this world. Not to get bothered by the ugliness of people and this world. Symbol Om - Universal sound. When you make that sound it generates vibration in our body that purifies our mind. Here's a google explanation: a mystic syllable, considered the most sacred mantra in Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. It appears at the beginning and end of most Sanskrit recitations, prayers, and texts.
  23. It's much better in person. I think a brighter red would have stood out more. But I like it.
  24. Thank you.
  25. I know I've been slacking this week.. LOL So here is the latest one. It's 1/4" cherry, and is about 9x10 ish.. Cut with Olson #2/0R blades. It has a ply backer. I was trying to see what color backer I wanted, and I hit a scrap piece with 4 colors.. Showing it to the GF we decided it would be kinda cool to use all 4, so I did the same pattern on the backer as the test.. I think it looks kinda cool. Oh, and it's a Sheila Landry Design pattern.. DUH!! LOL
