amazingkevin Posted March 29, 2014 Author Report Posted March 29, 2014 Hi CARL, You're right.I finally found some glasses that make my work easier.I wear 2.50 for reading and 1.50 for everything else but scrolling coins I was using 6.00 proof now i want to get the 10,power.problem with cutting coins is lighting,it shines on the coin to where I can't see exactly where I'm cutting.Maybe i need black light,or tint the coin.It would be alot more fun if i could find a solution to this problem. And again the first person i showed the cut coin to thought i was giving it to them .Seems they like and want these, but don't want to pay. Wrong crowd, I guess. Thanks for looking! Quote
Bendita Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Nice work Kevin how do you market these as jewelry or do you mount them in wood? Have you tried painting your coins first with some water paint with black for instance it should wipe off easy and you should see your pattern through the paint no? amazingkevin 1 Quote
Ron Johnson Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Good morning Kevin Excellent work and yes that is some fine detail cutting. I can see where you need to magnify while cutting. Well done. amazingkevin 1 Quote

amazingkevin Posted March 30, 2014 Author Report Posted March 30, 2014 This 50 cent piece was really was hot ,guess cause it's thicker than the quarter,I may cut between the eagles legs yet.Bendita great idea painting it black,i think then if i scratch awl thru the paint and leave a shiny thin line it will be a big plus for cutting quatity, thanks.Roly i'll save what i cut out and you can take that to your bank !lol Thanks ron ,you need to get close as it's all details.Multifasited very slow work,i can smell the heat while i cut, more metal cuttings coming as i can do them in the house,(heavy dust ,no problem) lol LarryEA 1 Quote
