Firedkm Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 I need some help and deciding what to do with my website. I already have a site up and working at http://www.dalespuzzles.com. This site is very complex to use and seems really slow to load pages. The program I am using is Zencart. This is an open source program that has a lot of features that I may never use. Now the site I am currently working on is very easy to use and loads pretty fast. This is from Coffee Cup and it cost me like 49 bucks when I bought it several months ago. They still dont have everything I want in this program however by the end of the summer they should have most of the features I want in place. http://www.dalespuzzles.com/demo Please take a look at both and tell me what you think on each one and what one you prefer to shop on. Thank you Quote
Travis Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 As far as theme and layout, I like ZenCart better than Coffee Cup. Who's hosting your site? I find GoDaddy is a bit slow when you're working with databases. Since you're not trying manage a warehouse full of product, you might want to look into using Wordpress as a CMS and using the WP e-Commerce plugin to manage your inventory and sales. I'm a huge fan of Wordpress. Easy to install, easy to update, fast, and free. Quote
Firedkm Posted July 22, 2009 Author Report Posted July 22, 2009 I am using fat cow as my server. I will look into wordpress. Quote
Christina Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I like the first one best............it doesn't load slowly at all and I'm on dialup! It looks way more professional and easy to navigate. The second one.......I didn't care for it mainly because it has a black background. That is difficult on the eyes and this site loads soooooo slowly. Maybe because there is so much content on one page. Just my opinion. I hope it helps you. Christina Quote
