nrscroller Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 Hi After years of paying cable bills and sattelite bills, we are thinking of quitting altogether and going with local channels out of twin cities area. Also thought about a Roku or a blue player with channels on it for supplemental movies etc. Anyone have these things and also is Amazon prime any good Thanks Bill Quote
thatknobtony Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 Hi Bill. We have gone with the Netflix and find it good. The Canadian version could use some improving but it still a lot better than all the reality tv and talk shows that are on these days. What ever you choose though good luck. Quote
Dan Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 My wife uses Roku and just downloads her TV shows from bit torrent, whatever that is. She also gets movies sometime. I recently pulled the plug on our cable as I don't watch TV. You should hear the customer service rep (and I use that term very loosely) give her sales pitch when I tell her I just don't watch TV. browders Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 We have Roku and use it primarily for Netflix. It works well as long as the internet is up. Where I live, cable is not available. We have satellite but it's kind of expensive. Unfortunately we are on the wrong side of the mountain to receive anything by regular antenna. Quote
