Rob Roy Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Well, my good friends, Sunday started off with beautiful sunshine and nice and warm. I was officiating at a Classic Car Show. Turned out a very busy day with lots of entries. Due to the lack of room I parked the Pajero a bit further away than I would have liked. All was going very well, until suddenly we had a short sharp THUNDER STORM, and boy did it throw the rain down. Just then a voice was heard shouting " hey Roy your Sunroof is wide open", Oh dear me,or words to that effect. . Since the heart scare, obviously I couldn't run so I threw the keys to my son Scott, who conveniently MISSED them!!!!. So there was a mad scramble to retrieve them. Now the *&^^%^$ key fob wouldn't work because the battery had slipped out of the holder when it hit the deck. So had to dismantle the fob and put the battery back in place. . Eventually got it shut but things were extremely moist. Iuckily the seats are leather, so they dried quite quickly, plus there was about half a gallon of water in the center console but the rest you can guess, soggy to say the least. Oh well, that's life I suppose. You can only laugh, I'll spend the rest of the day assisting the Boss to suck the water out of the carpets. I managed to get one decent picture shown below. It's a FORD F650 Pickup, quite a big fellow. The rest are ,left G/S number one Craig, Daughter in law Angela with G/S number two Jay. On the whole I suppose it was a good day when the sun was shining. Quote
grampa Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Could have been worse you could have borrowed my car lol, looks like it was a good day despite the rain and all ended up well............Paul Rob Roy and LarryEA 2 Quote

Rob Roy Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 Huge to say the least, looks like it could haul earth moving machines Hi Kevin, 6 liter ( 408 cubic inches), 6 cylinder cummins engine. Fuel consumption about the same as an 18 ton truck. Expensive, but a beauty to drive, gets the heads turning, not to mention the ADRENALIN. going.I believe the owner paid 60,000 pounds for it, about $100,000 Rob Roy. Quote

As for drying out the vehicle it a hair dryer job. haa haa Roly Driving that beast was amazing,Roly, and I thought I had no ADRENALIN left. . My daughter in law wanted a go but she couldn't reach the go faster pedal. Despite the sun roof episode, which was like a Laurel and Hardy film, it was a great day out with the family, not that I saw much of them until the prize giving was over. The driving of the truck was my PRIZE. there's some details of the truck in a Kevin answer somewhere above. Rob Roy PS Roly I was lucky the seats were BROWN leather!!!!!!! Rob Roy Posted May 13, 2014 Author Report Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) Larry, just an Idea, but you could add "a bucket of water through the sunroof"  Errrrrrrr, I think I've had enough water this past while Keith and Larry, and it has always come THROUGH THE ROOF. At least I didn't have expensive Plywood in the 4x4. The last plywood escapade was somewhat traumatic. I still have nightmares about it!!!!. I didn't have a source of FREE plywood to fall back on then. But that has been taken care of now. One of my friends has a son who is now manager of a timber supply company HE HE. Before you say anything Keith. I could fall in S**T and come up smelling of VIOLETS. . Anyway my water problem was an "act of God". What's your excuse for flooding your poor old dad's kitchen Rob Roy. Edited May 13, 2014 by Rob Roy wombatie 1 Quote
