    I deliberately leave them without a fabric mane or tail for easier cleaning. 

    The manses and tails are a great  germ breeding ground. We know little kids and grimy fingers will be all over them. 

    I had one customer have a crocheted mane made for one-- easy to remove with Velcro and wash.
