  5. Alan, first of all welcome to the Village. Secondly how long have you been scrolling? Thirdly how long have you been making patterns? Fourthy WOW Love everything about it and I especially like the way you have presented it, not sticking to the usual square / rectangle way. Can't wait to see more of your work. Marg
  6. I'm with you Kevin. I did all of the women type things, sewing, knitting, cooking and was not very good at any of them, then the first day I tried a scroll saw I was hooked. Been loving it for the last 16 years but just think of all the other years I missed out on. How long have you been scrolling? Your work is excellent, each one is extremely well cut.  Marg
  7. I do not reply to every post. But if I think its something I can reply too I read all the other posts, I may not go back there again unless I have asked a question. Does that make sense? Marg

  13. Haha it looks great. Marg
  14. This is smudgers pattern. I cut it in cedar which was a breeze to cut but it didn't take the finish too well. Oh well never mind. Andrews made the pattern as a tie hanger but I don't have any ties just scarves, works just as well but for thinner scarves. Thanks Andrew. Marg
  15. So this is the culprit that turned your hair grey and the air to turn blue? Looks great Clayton. Charles' patterns are really something aren't they? Marg

  20. A work colleague of my husbands asked if I had a Doris Day pattern and was quite surprised when I said yes 4. Well this is the one she chose and low and behold a friend of hers asked if I would do one fore her too, but because I had only cut the one I now have to start a second one. Anyway its cut from 3mm marine ply and put into a bought frame. Pattern is by someone named Paul from Portraits in Wood I think and posted in 2008 on some site or another. Marg
  21. When we were in Tassie we went to Straun ( Sorry can't remember how to spell it) and they have a wood tuning shop / workshop there and they had loads of Huon Pine. Its a nice soft wood. Marg
  22. I'm not sure what I will be cutting yet. I gave the counter a really good clean when I had put the wood into the garage, didn't want to get into trouble if he got splinters in his sandwich.  Marg
  23. Yes Steve we have a band saw. But I will leave the cutting part to Terry. Marg
  24. The courier arrived this morning with a VERY heavy box and when I open it surprise surprise. A friend of my daughters lives in Launceston Tasmania and he found out about my little hobby so sent me all of this wood. Its Huon Pine a native of Tasmania. I sent him a message to say thank you and he said that if I want any more just to let him know. Gee my daughter's got some great friends. Marg
