    I'm with you DW, I also having the early stage of cataracts and I hate anyone doing anything to my eyes. I pull away so bad that I hope they have a stop bar on the chair / bed to stop me from getting away. Still a long way off yet though before I start to panic. Marg

    A short time ago I put some of my work into a local art shop, well so far I have not sold anything but I did get an order. The lady saw this that I had made a while ago and asked if she could have one, so I contacted the lady whose photo it was and she said yes that would be fine, so here it is. It is an A3 size ( thats a letter size x 2 ) and I made it out of Marine ply. Marg

    To answer your first question, as long as you drill a hole close to a line that is OK. If you have a large piece to cut out you can use a larger drill bit. Second question, I alway cut the smaller pieces first that way you are not trying to keep your wood from breaking. Thirdly, I think you will always find a void in all ply's no matter what type it is but of course the cheaper it is the more problems you may have. Well done on the dolphins it looks great.     I used to make patterns but the program I used is obsolete now, ( I still have it on my husbands computer ) no upgrades etc., but I do give a photo a go every now and again, its just that the quality of the photos are a lot better now a days, so I just ask nicely and the real experts help me out, I'm fine with that. Marg

    What ever finish you decide upon, try on a scrap piece of wood first then if you mess up you haven't made your cutting into a really nice piece of designer firewood. Marg
