I've had this saw for about a month. Generally satisfied with its performance. Not satisfied with the top blade holder that required the Allen wrench so I removed the Allen bolt and found I could use a bolt with a knob that I had laying around the shop. Now undoing the top holder to move the blade to a new hole is a snap. The only problem is that the upper arm is mounted inside a plastic housing that holds the blade guard and blower assembly. Within a few days there were stress fractures in the plastic. This doesn't affect the performance of the saw although it does cause the housing to vibrate so I removed the blade guard which I prefer not to use anyway.
  2.  Lost my wife to  cancer last September. Haven’t got around to doing any projects since then except for two name plaques. Guess it’s time to start again.

  3. Decided to try tilting the table to make a sign for my son. Instead of raised letters I recessed them as it seemed appropriate for the name.
  4. Great idea! I've been using my hand all this time!
  5. Owner's manual thst Larry posted shows it taking pinned and plain blades!
  6. This is where I get mine. Plenty of exotic wood remnants and BB plywood. http://www.metrohardwoodsinc.com
  7. You can expect a long "honey-do" list after this! Nice work.
  8. A big howdy from your neighbor in Independence! Welcome to the forum. Been here about a year now and learned a lot from these guys-n-gals. Be sure to share some pics of your work so we can heap praise on you. Larry

  12. Love it! Is the pattern available? Looking for a supplier of the sample pack in the U.S. But haven't found one yet.
  13. Beautiful work scrollerpete! BTW, we lived in Arizona for 52 years. Still warm there this time of year, especially compared to Canada.
  14. Depends on what kind of scrolling you want to do. For finer cuts you may want the pinless blades which the upgrade would allow. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/scu_bladechange.htm
