  1. Happy Birthday yost69!  I hope you have an awesome day!

  2. here is mine. Not the biggest thing but it works for now. I dont remember what size it is now. I think it is 15 x 24 or something like that. Like everyone else I wish it were 4 times bigger. lol http://huhdowhat.com/shop.html
  3. Im no genius and I know that you asked travis but here is my two cents worth. It is my understanding that you are allowed to cut any pattern and sell your finished product. You can not however sell the pattern itself unless you made it. It is also my understanding that you can not sell anything nascar related or disney related or any company that has a legal copyright. Disney has a copyright on their characters and nascar has a copyright on their drivers and cars. As such you can not sell your finished works without the respectful owners permission. I have heard that nascar has went so far as to not allow you to do anything with the pictures you take at the raceway aswell.
  4. Depending on how tight your budget is. If you can afford it get it. I have a variable speed adjustment on mine and love it. It is nice to adjust the speed when needed. Ben
  5. My absolute favorite is my fridge and my radio. If those are not considered tools I guess it is a toss up between my scroll saw and my lathe. Ben
  6. How about a blade size recommendation chart like what blades to use with what size wood. I know you can find some on the net but it would be nice to have one available here so I don't have to remember where I saw it. Ben
  7. Here's my pattern entry. Ben
  8. I am like some of the others. I started out making larger stuff like tables and pie safes and stuff. I needed a scrollsaw to cut a design in a project rather than use a jigsaw. Went to lowes to take a look at what they had. I will be honest I leaned towards the hitachi because of the looks, went home to do some research then went back and purchased it. After I bought it I had to do something with it to pay for it. Started looking on the net for what it was used for, I had a basic idea but had no clue as to how many nice patterns there were available, and found a wealth of information. Well now I don't do big stuff anymore, except for the occasional project, because I got bit by the scrolling bug. Ben
  9. Messy is an understatement. The dewalt blows chips everywhere, I read somewhere that the extractor fan on it blows up the bags on a dust collector without turning the collector on. That is some power. I have the luxury of living in a rural town so there are no neighbors around, I have a brush pile over the hill from the shop that I throw scrap wood on that has no other use. Mostly projects that went bad and left over pieces from skids that I dismantle that have to many nails to burn. That is where I point my planer and let the chips go where they want. It blows them a good 10 to 15 feet. Ben
  10. Figures. Lowes is probably the same way. Ben
  11. Let me know if the borg gives you the price match. I may be making a trip down the road to lowes with a piece of paper in my hand and see if they will match my new nail gun. Ben
  12. I have my saw sitting on top of the workbench it is not the Dewalt it is the hitachi. The bench is about 4 feet tall. Vibration is there as I don't have it mounted but it is not enough for me to worry about. My saw came with a stand but I never put it together so it is just sitting in the attic. I sit on an adjustable stool kinda looks like a barstool. You can see it in this pic here. http://huhdowhat.com/images/shop/shop3.jpg It is fine for me but I know of others that sit in a full back chair. I just don't have the room. I will agree with Travis. If you can afford it get it unless you have a bench or something to mount it to. It will help to get rid of most if not all of the vibration. Ben
  13. I have the Dewalt 735. I have had for just over a year now but have only used it a total of 10 times maybe. I have not had any problem with it at all. If you expect a finished product from it you will not get one so the finish setting on it is not truthful. I always expect to do some sanding so that is no big deal to me. For jointing you can use the table saw or I have also used a straight bit on the router table. If you google jointing with a router table you will come up with several how to's they are all basicly the same. Now nothing beats a jointer by any means but when times are tight which would you rather do? Get your edges perfect and sand the wood to thickness with your belt sander or get your wood to thickness and joint the edges as best you can? I would go for the planer as most woodworkers already have either a table saw or a router and table. If you have a router and no table I got my table from lowes and I think I only paid $70 for it. To long ago to remember. Ben
  14. Well at least they thought it was good enough to steal and sell. On a serious note I did try to report them to ebay but apparently I can't register on the uk site with a us address. Do you recognize the seller name so you at least sold a copy to them? or did they copy it off of a friend. Ben
