That is a very nicely done project. I am sure that she is going to really like that. Great work all around from the pattern ( DonR ) to the Cutting and framing. Well done. Thanks for sharing this is with us.

Rob sorry to hear about your mechanical nightmare. Perhaps you can make one ( scroll saw ) in the meantime... this is of course if you can't McGuyver a working fix for the broken part. Its too bad that there is not a repair center handy.

Baw,,, Kevin on the other hand......hehe. If your food does not taste right and you suddenly realize that there is no sawdust... you might be an obsessed scroller......

Not real positive Dan but probably in the $25 - $29 range. I know, I tend to under price my creations however I am only selling at local craft fairs and Church venues.

This bowl was cut from Pine and Mahogany. The inlay was cut out of the pine and then filled with the polymer clay and baked at 275 F for 20 min. The mahogany layer was added to provide a backing for the inlay and for visual interest. Instead of a smooth sided bowl I chose to make it a stepped bowl. The bowl is 7 3/4 inches long x 5 1/4 wide x 2 inches tall. I used pure tung oil with no thinning as a finish.

I am wondering if the motor might not be bad. I have had a Dewalt 788 for a fairly long while and I have never had it bog down when tension is applied. It is under warranty? You may wish to call your local Dewalt Service Center and talk to a technician - http://www.dewalt.com/Find-Service-Center.aspx
Let us know what you find out if you will.
